Our mission is to provide access to affordable, convenient, high quality effective primary health care services, including outreach and prevention, to all who seek such care locally.  We do not discriminate against people on any basis.

We are committed to staffing our program with culturally and technically competent people.  Our Mattawa location enables us to serve the entire Wahluke Area.

Our goal is to identify, monitor, and serve the health needs of the community in order to improve health status.

Community
Mattawa is a Grant County farming town of about 3350 people and is predominately Latino, with a very low level of English-speakers in the community. Mattawa has seen significant population growth over the past few years. According to the Washington State Office of Financial Management, Mattawa has realized a growth of more than 28% since the year 2000.

Mattawa officials have signed an agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice outlining the ways the town intends to improve access to people who aren't proficient in English. We believe it's the first of its kind in Washington state.

Technology
We provide X-ray services though a rad based service partnered with Sunnyside Community Hospital, where the x-rays are taken here and then sent through a teleradioligy system to Sunnyside Community Hospital where they are read by a radiologist and then the report is sent back to us via fax.  We also provide lab services with a 24 hour turn around result time through PAML labs.  During spray season, we provide Cholinesterase testing for the surrounding ranches.

We currently have three full time and one part time provider.  Dr. Sloane is a DO and has been with the Clinic for four years.  He has worked in Community Health, Emergency Room, and as a Hospital Director.

Jep Edwards, ARNP is from Fairfield, Washington and has been here for one year.  Jep was a registered nurse for 15 years prior to returning to school and completing his degree as a ARNP, he then worked at a community health center as a provider and then director prior joining our team.  Jep has been with us for one year.

Cheryl Mielbrecht, PA-C is from the Portland, Oregon area.  Cheryl completed her PA-C training last year and joined our team in February 2008.

Alfredo Loera, PA-C works for us on a part-time basis, coming up from the Sunnyside area where he also works in the Sunnyside Hospital Emergency Room.  Alfredo is bi-lingual and prior to joining the ER team at the hospital worked in a Community Health Clinic.

Facility
Mattawa Community Medical Clinic serves the citizens in and around Mattawa. A three-member board of commissioners and an appointed superintendent administer the district.
